In times of crisis, a healthy meal can be hard to find. Many displaced families in Lebanon are struggling to afford the most basic groceries. To help, Rikaz visited families this week to deliver baskets filled with fresh, healthy vegetables.
Most emergency aid is “dry food” like rice and canned goods. While these are important, families also need fresh vitamins to stay healthy, especially children and the elderly. Our vegetable baskets included:
Nutritious Essentials: Potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers.
Health: Helping families stay strong and avoid getting sick.
A Taste of Home: Fresh vegetables allow mothers to cook traditional, warm meals for their children, bringing a sense of comfort to the dinner table.
Our team went directly to the homes and shelters where families are staying. We believe that delivering food to their door makes life a little easier for parents who are already dealing with so much stress.
Seeing the relief on a mother’s face when she receives a basket of fresh produce reminds us why this work is so important. It isn’t just about food; it’s about showing these families that we care about their health and their dignity.
